Company Mission and Guiding Principles

501(c)3 Events’ core tagline is “benefit event stress relief”.  Our mission as a company is and will always be to provide charity events and organizations that request our services with:

• Expert consulting – meeting by phone, email, and in person in the weeks and months prior to the event to share expertise regarding item procurement, venue set up, patron development, event day supply and volunteer needs, and many other aspects of the event preparation.
• Efficient management procedures – putting in place best practices, both before and during the event regarding registration, Silent Auction, Live Auction, cashiering, item pickup, merchandise sales, volunteer position recommendations, and help with the event timeline.
• A smoother event experience – training and managing volunteers on site, helping answer guests’ questions throughout the course of the event, making sure the event chairs focus on socializing and enjoying the event, striving to eliminate lines at registration, cashiering, and item pick up, and making it as easy as possible for guests to bid and give money to your cause.

M. Timothy Chapin - Director

M. Timothy Chapin began his work with non-profit organizations in 1990.  His more than 20 years’ experience has made him familiar with all duties and functions of benefit auctions from the very first planning meeting to the audit after the event. His extensive knowledge of the auction process has helped hundreds of organizations raise millions of dollars.

In addition to his field work with non-profit organizations, he has worked as Auction Product Manager for a national auction software company and has in-depth knowledge of the most popular auction software products on the market today.  Tim’s auction master classes are routinely attended by staff and volunteers of many organizations wanting to understand the finer points of the charity auction process.

Tim is the director of 501(c)3 Events, a company specializing in charity event stress relief, and currently assists in producing and organizing over 30 auctions per year across the country ranging from public school auctions raising between $15,000 and $20,000 and guild and museum auctions that raise over $5 million.

“There is nothing more rewarding than looking at the joy in the faces of an auction committee after their event just raised $50,000 more than their target goal,” says Tim. The diversity and contrast between the many different organizations and the way they approach the auction process is always intriguing to Tim, and he continually acquires new ideas to help groups increase their success.
